Animal Control Unit


The Animal Control Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, tranquil environment for the citizens of Sterling. If you have a problem concerning a animal please contact the Sterling Police at (978) 422-7331, the dispatcher will collect the necessary information and the Animal Control Officer will contact you and handle the problem or complaint.

If your call is of a nuisance matter and the Animal Control Officer is unavailable, a patrol unit will be dispatched to restore peace and prepare a report to be forwarded to the Animal Control Officer so that appropriate actions can be taken. If there is an immediate concern for the public, a patrol officer will be dispatched to the call prior to the Animal Control Officer being contacted.
